If you’ve read this blog at all you’ll have noticed that I don’t get excited about much that I haven’t written myself. I just don’t like most things I see out there. Most personal development blogs I see out there are the same old thing. Everyone’s trying to do the same thing, writing articles about the same topics. I don’t get excited by much. Then too I don’t get excited about things that don’t affect me directly very much.
This “Stop Smoking Guide” e-book in PDF format floored me. It’s so right on the money that I can’t help but write about it.
I have a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. I studied addiction. I counseled some with addiction, though it wasn’t what the bulk of my psychology counseling experience I learned some things.
I’ve never smoked. Parents that did, and asthma since I was a teen killed the few ideas I had when I was a teen that smoking might be cool. I’ve never needed to stop any addiction except nail picking and biting – which I mentioned here before that I was cured of just with some simple mp3’s by an amazingly simple method that also floored me.
Patrick Meninga from Spiritual River addictions help site wrote me about doing a guest post on addiction and I liked his idea and enthusiasm so much I agreed. I don’t usually allow guest posters because again, I’m just not excited about anyone’s writing except Rands in Repose, Matt Cutts, Urban Monk, Engadget, and Alan Watts (podcasts). There are a few other blogs I can’t do without – but can’t think of them right now. So, for Patrick Meninga to knock me over with this PDF is really saying something exceptional about him – he’s got an AMAZING GRASP of the topic of addiction and specifically smoking as he was a smoker himself before quitting.
Grab the PDF if you smoke and want to quit or maybe you don’t even WANT to quit. It’s an amazing read that might inspire you to quit something else foolish. His realistic style of telling it just like it is – and knowing what you’re thinking and what the truth about your smoking really is in the back of your mind – is way beyond cool.

Best of Life!

Fewer people smoke in Hawaii, have you noticed that?

Hey Vern,
Thanks so much for the link. I had Patrick guest post on my blog once before too and like you I was bowled over by his writings. His guest still remains one of my favourites!

Hi Albert,
I can’t say enough good things about his writing. He’s very good at getting the point across. Thanks for commenting…
Thanks for the rave review, Vern. I hope people will download the book and put the concepts to use.
The ideas in that book might not work for everyone, but they worked for me, and I’ve been smoke free now for almost 3 and half years. That’s over 5 thousand dollars in savings at these crazy cigarette prices!
Quitting is the greatest gift you can give yourself. Thanks again for the review, I appreciate it.
Hi Patrick,
As I must have said a dozen times to you already – this is the most amazing program for stopping smoking I’ve ever seen. The way you wrote it with the first person perspective and taking into account things you know the quitter will try to rationalize away is brilliant. I hope everyone that smokes reads this and uses it.
Isn’t it amazing how much money stopping smoking saves?
Good luck in everything… your site is excellent too – you’re helping a lot of people Patrick!
