Got Motivation? Here’s Some…

usa-gold-china-flickr-cmaccubbin-cc2I got motivated today – and didn’t realize I needed it. Maybe you need some motivation this morning?

Philip Lilly wrote a comment on my blog and so, naturally I went to have a look at his blog to make sure it isn’t a spamfest before I post his comment. He has a motivational / personal development type blog that had a great article filled with motivational videos and links to other motivational videos on it.

It got me thinking…

Here’s a page of the inspirational videos that hit me hardest. I’ve included links so you can open the video if you want. Otherwise, if I embedded them all this page would take 3 days to load.

Go have a look at some of these and see if you don’t suddenly feel like you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to! (First 2 links are courtesy of Philip Lilly’s page which contained these links.)

The DO Series – great collection of motivational talks.

Two Lance Armstrong Videos.
Lance is a very inspiring person, having come back from brain, lung, and testicular cancer to win the Tour de France. Recently, after a brief retirement from cycling he’s decided to come back to try to gain some momentum for the causes he supports. Any Lance video is to me, the most inspirational video I can see!

Lance Armstrong on mountain climb in 2001 Tour De France.

Lance Armstrong training on the bike, and during actual Tour de France races.

Another Lance video!

Ironman Triathlon Video

Nick Vujicic
This is a very short clip of Nick giving a motivational speech to a bunch of high school students, many of which end up crying and hugging him after it. Can you imagine high school kids doing that to a motivational speaker? You’ll understand when you see this video, as Nick wasn’t lucky enough to be born like most of the rest of us… One more short video where he’s talking to a group of adults >  and,   Nick’s Official Site >

22 Motivational Videos – some long, including Deepok Chopra, Tim Ferris, Steve Jobs, Tony Robbins, Oprah… more.

If you haven’t watched a lot of Tony Robbins videos you’re robbing yourself. You owe it to yourself to watch some and see what you can learn. I’ve gone through Tony’s 30-day program about 7 times on my own and each time I do I find out reams of information about myself.

Tony’s 30 day CD program – from back in 1997 I think it was is still valid today. It’s timeless. Amazing info that anyone can use for any purpose. It will help you define your goals and inspire you to meet and exceed them. I highly recommend the program if you can find it on CD or even on DVD’s by now.

    Vern,
We all need motiviation. But all motivation don’t work for everyone. For whatever reason I have never responded much to the rah-rah motivation. As soon as the music is gone so are the effects.
I respond to sincere honest actions. I also don’t respond well to “look at me, look what I did” tam boon type motivation. It means more if done anonymously and not looking for public acknowledgement.

I respond to things like true stories of US immigrants coming ashore with nothing and build a successful life and business through hard work and persistence. I respond to obese candidates of “The Biggest Loser” driving beyond their perceived capabilities to transform their life and body.

    Keep the true motivation coming.

  2. Sometimes motivation comes when you don’t expect it. I remember I got a spam email, but at the bottom had a quote that almost had me in tears, and now I read it everyday!
For me, I like to play this Michael Jordan commercial, it gives me the tingles( I couldn’t think of a better word, ha) every time. Here’s the link

Thank you very much for mentioning my site. I am glad that the videos did motivate, and I am very happy to check out the ones that you found. I have come across Nick Vujicic’s video before. It is truly inspiring. It makes me wonder how I can let things bother me that are nowhere near as hard as what he goes through daily.

Here was the other link, I didn’t know if anyone would be interested.

Just make sure you allow the pop-up. It is a very flash heavy page, so it might not load well on slower connections.

    Thanks again! Oh,

      Hi Philip,

No worries – I enjoyed your site. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen Nick speak and it’s quite powerful.

Re: the Adidas link – it didn’t work in my computer (here in Thailand) so I left it out. I have a pop-up blocker and a slow connection most times. I’ll leave it in your comment though in case someone want’s to check it out.

Thanks for finding AFA – and hope to see you around more.
