Here’s a visitor email I received and the advice applies to many:

Aloha/howzit!

I’m a 25 year-old South African dude, currently working in Durban as a freelance filmmaker. But both my girlfriend and I are very keen for a change… We’d love to work in Hawaii for a year or as even a few weeks/months if possible, ideally close to the north Shore as I’m a keen surf photographer.

If you’re able to help with any advice/opportunities we’d be most grateful.

Yours in faith
Calvin

Aloha Calvin,

There are always opportunities in Hawaii for talented people, especially surf photographers.  The best advice I can give you is follow my Ten Steps to Finding a Job in Hawaii and let us all know how it works out!

About the Author:

I’ve lived Hawaii since the mid ‘80s when I moved here at the age of 21. I arrived site-unseen in Honolulu with zero contacts and about $5k in savings. I worked from nearly zero and today Hawaii has given me the greatest gifts in the world in all aspects: spiritually, financially, romantically (married since early ‘90s w/ 2 children), and most important, peace. My goal with this site is to share the magic of this Land of Aloha and help others who are on a similar quest.
