If you would like to learn about living in Hawaii from people who have been here for decades (since the mid-80s) in a self-paced, online course with a satisfaction guarantee, tell us what you want to know! After all, we’re building this for you. We’ve got a lot of topics planned but need to know which ones you value so we can prioritize. We put together a simple 1 minute online Google Form survey and of course there’s zero obligation whatsoever if you participate. Tell us what you want to learn and how valuable it is to you so we can develop a course that’s useful. We’re excited about this next phase!
I think you should point out we have the highest homelessness in the US. We do not have enough housing for people that live here. People need to understand the high cost of life in Hawaii and the reality of working 2 jobs.
I’d like to know more about transportation. Is it better to ship a car there, buy used once you are there, buy new once you are there? Buy in Oahu and ship to Maui etc..
Great point! I’ll cover that. Pls make sure you participate in the survey so I can capture everything in one place.
I’ve researched a lot but really can’t find up to date information about costs for utilities, HOA fees (I know this ranges depending on what the HOA offers in terms of coverage) which are rarely addressed in any shows you watch about condo purschases in the Islands. Also would like to know how rare are townhomes. Another thing really not addressed is medical coverage. Do you still have to fly to Oahu from the outter islands for elective surgery? I’m targeting both Oahu and Hawaii – based on house prices. Another item that might interest folks, now, is the tiny house revolution. I know yurt’s have been popular awhile on Hawaii, but what about other tiny houses.
Thanks Catherine! Be sure to participate in the survey and leave your email address so we can keep you apprised.
