One of the most magical places on the face of the planet that I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, was the top of Haleakala Volcano on the island of Maui. Most people go up for Sunrise, but when you do, you’re never really sure what you’re going to get. It’s freezing cold and if you’re lucky you’ll see a floating bed of clouds and the sun peak up through them from beneath if you arrived in time.
Sunsets can be even more dramatic, and it is quite a bit easier to time it so you arrive for a great one because you can look at the skies all day and see what they might look like at sunset.
This one is a sunset by “The Good Reverend Flash” over at Flickr. Thanks for this image, is shows just some of the remarkable beauty of Hawaii that is impossible to describe in words.
