Because we’re on an island, relative, landmark based directions are best. No one ever says “it’s on the northwest corner” for example. So how does it work here anyway? Our local girl Aina gives you the inside scoop from someone born and raised here.

I’ve lived Hawaii since the mid ‘80s when I moved here at the age of 21. I arrived site-unseen in Honolulu with zero contacts and about $5k in savings.
